What the heck is an 808-8A? Is there (or I wish there was) a simple chart showing the different motors, and then the different diaphragms that when mated to them make up the various designations that was easy to read.

808-8a: = 8 ohm 808A :
Altec
PS. AB this link was not as easy to find . Bill has passed on, I hope we can save his Altec pages for the User's Board library.
Opinion is only as valid as its verifiable supporting evidence.
Not all vegetables make good leaders.
My drivers have no labels or stickers on them. That chart would be more usefull if it listed the depth and diameter of the motors so we could cross-reference them as well as the diaphragm numbers. I like flow charts personally.
Isn't AB a computer wizz on accell?![]()
I put together an Altec driver cross-reference. Perhaps a good start would be to make such threads sticky?

I just noticed 299 not there. And the not so common 292 (short 290)
Your neighbors called. They like your music.
I have them all saved already.. I was thinking the same thing (About Bill Meckle's Pages)..Whenever I come across anything that is Altec related I try to save it to disk. I have 4 external drives I use a lot for saving info, plus the drives on my computers.. 8.7 TB's total..![]()
